After a full afternoon it was time for everyone to head home, or wherever they were going, as we all had long drives ahead of us. I transferred all my stuff from Nestor's car to Torben's as I was going to spend the night in Lahad Datu at his house before going to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge the following day.
We drove out through the plantation until we reached the Kinabatangan River and the ferry, which was going to take us further down the river and drop us off on the other side, so we could head up to Lahad Datu on the main road.
We were about 4 or 5 Humana cars all going across, so we had fun visiting and enjoying the sights as we rode the ferry in the late afternoon sun. It was nice to be on the river with a slight breeze cooling us a bit – a nice chance from the ever-present heat and humidity!
