The Move and The Blessings of Good Friends

After weeks of prepping to move out, the final days were hectic and exhausting - only with the help of true friends was it possible to accomplish the task.  I was deeply touched by all the help I received from my friends - what a blessing they are!  From picking up paintings and bringing them, to coming over at night with fresh coffee and a helping hand on the last evening of packing, to taking care of me with a soft bed to sleep in, and home cooked meal served at midnight, and another friend getting up early on a Saturday morning to help me with the final clean-up and hooking up the trailer, to artist friends taking over my last day of gallery duty when I realize I don't have enough hours in the day to finish packing.  Storing my loaded trailer when I realize it cannot make the trek over the Donner Pass.  These are only a short list of the blessings I received.  Thank you!

Stuff

Today is another gorgeous day in Pacific Grove - I will miss the beautiful view from my little yellow house with the red door and purple stairs!  I have to get started on packing and organizing all my stuff for storage.  It sure is amazing how much stuff one person accumulates - and I already packed up and moved once this year, and still I have so much!  This time I need to be much more prudent, there will be the pile that goes into storage, the pile that goes up to my daughter's home in Truckee, which will be my "base camp" for the coming year, and then the stuff I have to let go of!  That's the difficult one - but it's all part of letting go!  I must lighten the load in order to take flight!

Let the Journey Begin!

It has been a year full of changes - goodbyes and new beginnings!  2009 is going to be an exciting year, so much to explore - the world - art - painting - what path do I want to take for the next phase of my life?  I'll keep you posted.
