From Ubud to Pemuteran - Over the Mountains

It was time to leave Ubud behind and head towards the Northwest corner of Bali which promised to be much less populated and probably one of the last outposts here on this heavily populated island - so of course that spoke to both me and Jan and we had arranged to have our driver Wayan pick us up and drive us up to a small town called Pemuteran where we had made reservations at a home-stay.
The road was quite bumpy for a while - I think our dear Wayan was not quite sure of the way to Pemuteran, and he had to stop and ask a few places, but eventually I think we got on the right track - which included much better roads, and soon we were driving in beautiful lush green mountains, the air cooler and the view more stunning at every turn.
We stopped at a lake called Danau Bratan to explore and admire the beautiful Hindu Temple called Pura Ulun Danu Bratan - it is dedicated to the Goddess Dewi Danu the goddess of the waters, so she is a very important lady!
Of course, there was a ceremony taking place while we were there, so I had the opportunity to snap a few shots of the temple in use.
